Afterschool Enrichment Program
Youth Now! Junior Stars Afterschool Program at Arrowhead and Magnolia Elementary School is an academic enrichment program designed to: remediate and enhance math and reading/ language arts skills; STEM exploration; promote financial literacy & entrepreneurship and the arts. The program, funded by the Maryland State Department of Education’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND (ARP ESSER) program, is designed to provide students in grades 2-6 with a structured, academically enriched afterschool program which is aligned to our school-day program. The program operates Monday – Thursday, 3:30 – 5:30 pm., offers one-to-one structured structured tutoring in mathematics, reading, language arts and writing academic enrichment activities including: online support using iReady; small group instruction; and tutoring. Junior Stars Program have been provided by a grant funded by the Maryland State Department of Education’s American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief Afterschool Programs.
